We are delighted to announce that JAIA has been awarded “Commendation” following inclusion in the shortlist for the RIBA competition “Forgotten Spaces”. The competition seeks to identify the development potential of abandoned and neglected spaces in London. JAIA selected its own site “The Kingsway Tram Subway” in front of Holborn Station. The subway has been abandoned since its closure in 1952 and neglected for 60 years without significant use despite its great potential.
